Clock Out

Survive the 9-to-5 horde

Nine to five. Sixteen minutes. One thumb.

Staple the emails, dodge the Consultants, and try to reach 5 o’clock before your morale does.

Clock Out is a one-thumb, survivors-style roguelite about living through a single workday. Eight in-game hours. Sixteen real minutes. Everything between you and 5 o’clock is trying to ruin your afternoon.

What the job involves

  • Move. That’s it. Your weapons fire themselves. You just steer. Touch anywhere and a joystick appears under your thumb. Portrait, one hand, other hand free for coffee.
  • The office is out to get you Emails swarm. Yapp pings zig-zag. Meeting Invites slow you to a crawl. Printer Jams soak up everything you throw at them. And after four o’clock the Overtime Ghosts drift straight through the crowd towards you.
  • Twelve weapons, all stolen from your desk Fire staples. Throw a mug and leave a scalding coffee puddle. Chain lightning down the whole thread with Reply All. Take a weapon to level 8, pair it with the right passive, and the next Care Package may evolve it into something that should not be allowed in a shared workspace.
  • Promotions Fill the bar and the day freezes: pick 1 of 3 upgrades. Reroll it. Skip it. Build a completely different office worker every run.
  • Bosses with calendar invites 12:00, Kevin from Accounting is coming for your lunch. 2:00, the Middle Manager would like to circle back. 3:30, the Afternoon Slump settles in and will not leave. 4:45, the CEO.
  • Burnout isn’t the end Morale at zero? Take a Coffee Break and come back with half your morale and a cleared screen. Once per run. You’ve earned it.
  • The Supply Closet Spend paperclips on permanent upgrades and unlock new employees. The IT Guy. The Sales Bro. The Janitor. HR Karen. The Barista. Beat the CEO and you get to play as the CEO.
  • No account. No login. No nonsense. Your progress is saved on your device. Game Center leaderboards are there if you want to argue about who survived longest, and quietly ignored if you don’t.
  • Free, with ads A banner sits on the main menu, and an interstitial turns up between runs now and then. Never during a run. Rewarded videos are always optional and always hand you something back. One in-app purchase removes the banner and the interstitials for good.

A normal Tuesday

    Get promoted. Get weirder.
  • The 3:05 PM boss fight against the Afternoon Slump, a huge grey enemy in the middle of a screen packed with office monsters and paperclips.
    Bosses with calendar invites
