Support

Hi, I’m Sam. I made Clock Out on my own, so when you email about it you get me, not a ticket number.

Have a look below first, because the five things people ask about are all here. If it isn’t, please write to me. I read everything, and I usually reply within a couple of days.

Common questions

I bought Remove Ads and the ads are back

Open Settings in the game and tap Restore Purchases. That asks Apple to confirm the purchase again, which is what you need after a new phone, a reinstall, or a reset. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account you bought it with. The purchase is tied to that account, not to the device.

If it still doesn’t come back, email me with the date of the purchase and I will help you sort it with Apple.

Ads aren’t showing, or I want rid of them

Rewarded videos need a connection and a bit of patience. If one won’t load, check you are online, then try again in a minute. There isn’t always an ad available to serve, and when there isn’t, the game just carries on without one. Nothing is lost.

To get rid of the banner and the between-run interstitials for good, buy Remove Ads in Settings. Rewarded videos stay, because they are optional bonuses you choose to watch.

If you are somewhere that needs an advertising consent form, you can reopen it any time from Settings → Manage ad consent.

Game Center won’t sign me in

Game Center is handled by Apple, not by the game. Check it is switched on in iOS Settings → Game Center, then relaunch Clock Out. The sign-in banner only appears on a cold launch.

The whole game works signed out. You keep every feature apart from the two leaderboards, and nothing is held back from you.

Is my progress saved anywhere?

On your device only. Your paperclips, Supply Closet ranks, unlocked employees and statistics are all in a file inside the app. There is no account and there is no cloud save, so progress does not follow you between devices.

Deleting the app deletes all of it. If iCloud Backup is on for your device, your own backup may include it, but that is Apple’s copy and not mine. I would love to add cloud saves later. It is on the list.

How do I report a bug?

Email me, and please include:

  • Your device (iPhone 15 Pro, iPad Air, and so on)
  • Your iOS version, from iOS Settings → General → About
  • What you were doing when it went wrong, and what you expected instead
  • A screenshot or a screen recording if you managed to catch one

Those first two lines save me more time than anything else, because most odd behaviour turns out to be specific to a device or an iOS version. Crashes, a weapon behaving strangely, a stuck boss, paperclips that went missing, all of it is worth telling me about.

Privacy

Clock Out has no accounts and no servers of mine. The advertising is Google AdMob, and you can turn the personalised part of it off. It is all written out in the privacy policy.
